If you are looking for a quick, sweet and fresh salad for either a side dish or dessert this will work. I made this the other night to go with a stuffed grilled skirt steak I was making. The steak was so “heavy” and the weather so warm that I felt this would be a good choice. I also needed to use the berries up before we went away for a few days.
Ingredients:
- 1 quart of strawberries, washed, hulled and sliced in to quarters
- 1/2 pint blackberries left whole
- 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
How to:
- Pat berries dry
- In a bowl put lemon and lime juice
- Add berries and mint and gently toss to coated
- Sprinkle with sugar if desired
- Cover and chill for 20 mins
