This July 4th was spent at our cousins in MD. As a hostess gift my daughter and I had a great time preparing Star Shaped Rice Krispies Treats, Festive red, white and blue chocolate dipped marshmallow pops, S’mores kits, and bags of red, white and blue bagels. She also prepared a bag for each cousin of July 4th themed items. I think you can tell by the look on her face how happy she was!
July 4th was spent in our Nation’s Capitol on the west lawn of the Capitol building. There is something different about being in Washington DC for July 4th. It was oddly not as chaotic as I thought it would be. The concert and fireworks were terrific.
That is wonderful that you got to be there for the 4th of July. My husband and I also just happened to be there on the 4th one year, and it was spectacular. I remember thinking it was very organized for how many people attend. Definitely one of my best memories. It is so great you got to do that with your children.
I was surprised on how organized and calm it was. So not like NYC events!
