In 2012 we didn’t get to celebrate Halloween because Hurricane Sandy devastated the East Coast. We were fortunate not to sustain damage to our home, but we were with out power and heat for over a week. When the power came back on and the kids returned to school a week later they wanted to at least wear their costumes. The pictures in this post represents one evening when the put on the costumes just to
have fun.
My son was very into the Hunger Games last fall and wanted to be Peeta Mellark. I really couldn’t make the costume (the first time in 5 years!) so I bought him an official Hunger Games District 12 outfit. My daughter wanted to be a gumball machine. This costume was fun to create – but gluing gumballs took awhile.
Be sure to check the years of Halloween past for more costume fun: 2007 Starbucks Cups, 2008 Sushi Rolls, 2009 Iphone and Tinkerbell, 2010 Sock Monkey Boy and Girl, and 2011 for Angry Bird and Hello Kitty.
Gluing gumballs? Oh, my! You are the ultimate good mom and costume creator! How fun! http://ohtheplaceswesee.com
Yes gluing gumballs in the dark! So worth the smiles she had wearing it!

We’re making one similar to this. What did you use for her shoulders to hold it on?
